Director, SmithTech – School for Computer Science, Innovation, and Design (Chesapeake)
Dr. Helen Sapieka has been a dedicated member of Chesapeake Public Schools for the past 7 years. She began her tenure as an Assistant Principal at Grassfield High School, where she was instrumental in fostering academic excellence and supporting student success.
Currently, Dr. Sapieka serves as the Director of SmithTech – School for Computer Science, Innovation, and Design at Oscar Smith Middle School. In this role, she leads innovative programs that integrate cutting-edge technology and design thinking into the curriculum, preparing students for the challenges of the 21st century.
Dr. Sapieka is passionate about innovation and finding new pathways to increase student learning. She is committed to creating opportunities for students to explore their potential in STEM fields, ensuring they are well-equipped for future academic and professional success.
