CPS & ODU Launch CS Kickoff for New Lab School

This fall, SmithTech successfully launched a series of dynamic kickoff events, introducing students and families to the exciting world of computer science and technology. These hands-on experiences served over 500 families, fostering curiosity, creativity, and a passion for innovation.

Students had the opportunity to engage with cutting-edge tools such as Microbits, VEX IQ, TinkerCAD, SpiroBolts, and Dobot Magicians, gaining firsthand experience in problem-solving, coding, and engineering concepts. These interactive learning stations provided an immersive experience that brought technology to life, making complex concepts accessible and exciting for learners of all ages. More than just an introduction to technology, these events marked the beginning of a transformative journey in computer science education at SmithTech. By equipping students with essential skills in computational thinking and digital literacy, SmithTech is preparing the next generation of innovators and problem-solvers.
