John Baaki
I am an instructional designer, design studio geek, and associate professor of instructional design and technology at Old Dominion University. I impact human performance improvement. As a designer, I am enthusiastic about how design and possibility spaces guide our thinking, collaboration and progress toward innovation. I geek out about the power and magic of the design studio space. We are designers of change, and we design to act. Questions that always intrigue me include, “What can we learn from all the wonderful designers around us?” Currently, I am crazy about the synergies between design and possibility spaces, long form improvisation, and jazz.
For 19 years, I have had a blast teaching and researching at the university level. In the human performance improvement field, I have taught and researched instructional systems design, instructional design principles and applications, human performance technology, non-instructional interventions, and design thinking and knowledge.
