Graduate Assistant - ODU iLab
Tayla is currently a graduate student at Old Dominion University, majoring in Cybersecurity. She is from Waldorf, Maryland. As a woman in STEM, she is passionate about making STEM education accessible and engaging for all students. Working with the iLab has given her the opportunity to create and teach hands-on learning experiences that inspire creativity and confidence in learners. Growing up, many of the innovative technologies available today such as 3D printers & laser cutters were not commonly available in educational settings. She finds it amazing that students now have the opportunity to engage with these tools at such early ages and wishes she had experienced similar opportunities herself. At the iLab, she is able to help students explore these technologies, discover STEM fields, and see themselves as future innovators!
She is looking forward to all the new experiences the iLab has to offer. In her first few weeks, she has already learned so much about the technologies and opportunities offered through the iLab. She is excited to continue learning, engaging in STEM activities, and working with students as they explore our facility and discover interests in STEM.
A fun fact about Tayla is that she loves dogs! Especially her dog Molly, and hopes to have many dogs and maybe two cats in the future.
