Jay Scribner, Ph.D

Jay Scribner

Dr. Jay Scribner is a Professor of Educational Leadership at Old Dominion University, bringing a wealth of experience from his prior roles at the University of Missouri-Columbia. Throughout his career, he has served as a professor, department chair, and policy center director. His research focuses on professional learning and leadership at the intersection of organizational learning, improvement, and social justice. Dr. Scribner’s contributions to the field have been recognized with awards from the National Staff Development Council, the University Council for Educational Administration (UCEA), the National Academy of Education/Spencer Foundation, and the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Education.

Dr. Scribner earned his Ph.D. in Educational Administration from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1997, an M.A. in Public and International Affairs from the University of Pittsburgh in 1990, and a B.A. in Economics and Spanish from Wake Forest University in 1985. His areas of expertise include educational policy, program evaluation, and educational leadership.
